John Chapman history :- John Chapman are manufacturers of traditional hunting & fishing bags, handcrafted in their factory in Carlisle. was acquired by two merchant bankers, keen to retain the manufacturing in Carlisle to keep the local craftsmen employed by expanding the product range to include more classic English styled bags for travel and everyday use.
The Brief: To develop a brand strategy that reflects the quality of the English craftsmanship & time taken to make each item of baggage, versus imported mass produced products from the far east. The Snail Icon The elegantly crafted snail is iconic, representing the time and patience that goes into making a classic, handcrafted and timeless piece of English luggage. The snail also represents the concept that a Chapman bag is your “home away from home” just as the snail carries its home on it’s back whereever it goes.
